3.1. Lobbying and advocacy
Effective lobbying and advocacy requires a strategy. People who realize their responsibilities and put themselves forward for something often ask the following questions;
Why are we doing this activity?
Why are we targeting these decision makers?
These will be followed by the following question;
Does it contribute to achieving our goals?
It can be used to get into all of this to get a clear strategy (with the media, with the topic of the day), to be more effective and preventative without distractions.
To establish a strategy on lobbying and advocacy, staff of consumer organizations use a plan.
A good project plan enables people to perform more activities without being distracted, and enables them to network and communicate with others inside and outside the organization. Using the project plan will lead to better situations and contribute to more effective lobbying and advocacy coordination.
